Dear Middle School Families,
Albany Middle School will begin SBAC testing for English Language Arts and Math next week. The SBAC is a state level test that provides one measure by which we evaluate a student's academic growth, their strengths, and areas for improvement. Please see our testing schedule and information below:
- 6th grade will test from Thursday, May 4th through Friday, May 12th. Make-ups will be on May 15th and 16th.
- 7th grade will test from Monday, May 8th through Friday, May 19th with the exception of Wednesday 5/10. Make-ups will be on May 22nd and 23rd.
- 8th grade will test from Monday, May 8th through Friday, May 19th with the exception of Wednesday 5/10. Make-ups will be on May 22nd and 23rd.
Tips for Parents & Students
Be at school every day. Please avoid pulling your student out during the school day. Students who are absent will have to make-up tests after the initial testing sessions.
Be on time.
Be rested and fed. Make sure that students have a good night's sleep and enough breakfast to sustain them. Please also send your student with a snack.
Be encouraged to do their best and relax. The best state of mind for learning and for testing is what researchers refer to as "relaxed alertness" - not stressed, not too casual – awake, but not alarmed or anxious.
