Cobra Choir is a 6th grade choral ensemble open to singers of any level. This course focuses on healthy vocal production, music theory, and sight-reading. Cobra Choir performs in 5-6 concerts throughout the year.
Cobra Orchestra is a course in orchestral music of varied styles and periods. Students must possess some ability to perform on their instrument. String Orchestra will perform several times throughout the year. This class is open to students who already play a string instrument, but with teacher permission a student who wishes to learn to play an instrument could be accepted.
Cobra Band teaches students proper individual and band instrument technique, and in addition, students receive standards-based sequential music instruction. Students will perform multiple times throughout the year, including the CMEA Festival in the spring.
Jazz Band performs multiple times throughout the year. Enrollment in a daily band class is a prerequisite for Jazz Band enrollment, with exceptions for piano and bass players. The Beginner/Monday Jazz Band is open to 6th grade students by audition only in September. Please speak with Mr. Chisholm to enroll in the class.
