The Bay Area Climate Literacy Exchange is just over two weeks away! Come join us in collaboration with colleagues from several Bay Area school districts, along with partner organizations, as we share strategies and resources for implementing District Climate Literacy Programs. The event is on Monday, February 23, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland. Registration is still open! If you'd like to attend, please complete our Registration Form by Friday, February 6, 2026. After you submit your form, we will follow up to confirm your enrollment. If you've already registered, please share the registration form with your colleagues who may be interested in attending. Path To Belonging Exhibition
The lobby of the Albany Library/Community Center is currently displaying "Journeys to Albany--Paths to Belonging". It's a city-sponsored project that features the migration stories of seven Albany families. Their stories touch on the first African-American military aviators, The Great Migration, the Vietnam War and refugee resettlement, Japanese-American incarceration during WWII, Ottoman Empire dissolution and Greek diaspora, the story of an immigrant Nigerian & African American family, and others.

New Date! Albany Disability Squad's Family Support Group
Please join us for the next meeting of the Albany Disability Squad's Family Support Group* on a special date, the fourth Wednesday of this month due to Mid-Winter Break. Join us Wednesday, February 25, 7–8 pm this month, returning to the third Wednesday in March and in upcoming months. So much of our time, energy and heart goes toward supporting our kid(s)! It can be rewarding but also exhausting, overwhelming, and lonely. This drop-in group provides peer support to each other in our frustrations and triumphs. Ramadan Iftar Potluck
Ramadan is a holy month and sacred time of fasting, prayer, and community for Muslims. To support building community during this time, Iftars will be hosted throughout Ramadan where individuals are invited to join in prayer, if they would like, and then to break their fast. The Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) Parent Engagement Group is hosting a Ramadan Iftar potluck on Friday, February 27, 6–8pm in the Ocean View Multipurpose Room. Come and learn about this special month through games, crafts, and conversation. Everyone is welcome! Join us for the Lunar New Year Celebration hosted by AUSD Asian Pacific Islander Parent Engagement Group (API-PEG). February 28, 4–6pm, Ocean View Elementary MPR. SchoolCARE needs passionate volunteers to assist with Spring fundraising efforts. Please join our team in supporting public education in Albany. Sign up at the links below for each activity:
Brochure Distribution: Distribute fundraising brochures throughout Albany. Routes take 1–2 hours and can be a fun family activity.
In-Person Promotion: Help us promote our Spring campaign during school drop-off the week of April 27.
Host a Lawn Sign: We will drop off and pick up the signs for a two-month display!
