Invitation to Albany Service, Faith-Based, and other Community Organizations

Dear Albany Community Leaders:

There is no illness that has affected the lives of family, friends, and colleagues more than cancer. If I we can do one thing – not matter how small it may seem – to find a cure, prevent it from appearing, or support those whose lives it affects – it is to be part of the Albany Relay for Life 2013.

Over the 24-hour period from Saturday, May 18 at 10 am to Sunday May 19 at 10 am, the Albany community will join together in a collective show of support for Survivors and Caregivers, and raise funds to prevent and cure cancer.

Besides helping fight cancer, the Relay is a phenomenal way to build team spirit in your organization, meet others in Albany, and get the word out about your group’s mission and activities.





Here is how it works:



o Go to the website www.RelayforLife.org/AlbanyCA.. Then Register Your Team.
o Spread the word inside and outside your organization to join your team, and to contribute to your efforts
o Accept the invite to join the Albany Relay Yahoo group and learn more
o Team members show up at Cougar Field (behind the Albany Middle School on Brighton @ Masonic) during the event to walk around the track.
o Special events include the Survivors Lap and a moving Luminaria ceremony at dusk

This is the Albany community’s chance to support those who have had cancer themselves or among their loved ones. It is our chance to get to know one another, and to work together for a common cause in the Albany community.

We hope you will join the Albany Relay For Life 2013. We would love to walk a lap or more with you as part of this collective Albany spirit!
