Transitioning from AUSD elementaries
Albany Middle School hosts several events to transition students and families into middle school, which are detailed below. The specific dates for these dates will be provided to current 5th grade families in the Spring.
AMS Parent Information Night - held in mid-May
All incoming 6th grade parents/guardians are invited to the AMS gym to get an overview of the Albany Middle School 6th grade experience. This is an event for adults only.

Elementary Visits - in May
Principal Deb Brill will be visiting each 5th grade class during library time to answer students’ questions about transitioning to middle school.
Principal’s Coffee - held in early June
The Principal's Coffee is an informal opportunity to come and talk and ask questions of Principal Deb Brill about what to expect next year. This is an event for adults only.

Student Tours - in the first week of June
5th graders come up from the Albany elementary schools to receive some information about middle school from middle school staff and 6th grade students. Students are then taken on a tour of Albany Middle School.
AMS Student/Parent Orientation - held in late August
This is an Orientation where parents and students come to the AMS gym for a brief orientation, get their class schedules, and have a chance to get PE clothing and more!
