6TH GRADE HALLOWEEN PARTY

Hi 6th grade families,

 

Only three more days until Halloween!! We are filling lots of volunteer spots and I am getting very excited about the party. Just a few reminders for the party. There is no food at the party, the party starts right after lunch so this shouldn’t really be an issue. Please be mindful of costumes and their appropriateness. I have attached our costume expectations, please review this if you have any questions about a costume. Lastly, we still have some volunteer jobs that need to be filled: Haunted House Staffing, Games room, Photobooth set up, photographer, and general clean up. Here are some descriptions of each:

 

Haunted House Staffing:

If you like to be spooky on Halloween, this is the activity for you. Parents will come for the party (12:00 – 2:30 on October 31st) wearing all black or spooky clothing and will participate in the haunted part of the haunted house. The more staffing we have for this the better so people are able to take breaks throughout the party.

 

Supervising game room:

There will be a room dedicated to carnival games in one room. Volunteers who sign up for this role will be in charge of setting up the provided games (11:30-12:00), monitoring the games during the Halloween party and then a quick clean up following the party (2:00-2:30). A different room will be set up for board games and face painting. Again, all of the games and materials for this activity will be provided.

 

Photographer and Photo Booth:

We need one parent with a camera to be in charge of taking pictures at the photo booth. The photographer will need to develop photos (will be reimbursed) and pass them along to Taylor Bradley to be distributed to the students. We will need two additional volunteers to help set up the photo booth. The photo booth will take place in the hallway in the 6th grade pod. We will need to set up a large backdrop with a prop or two. A haybale will be nice too if we can get our hands on one. Volunteers who want to help set up the photobooth need to arrive at 11:30am before the party and do their best to encourage students to get a picture taken.

 

Cleanup Crew:

Last but not least is the cleanup crew position. About 10-15 volunteers makes this go rather smoothly. Clean up will occur after the party on October 31st, and will take place 2:15 to around 3:00. We will take things down and place the decorations and material in their respective boxes, store the boxes away and head out!
