I am excited to attend the Senior Walks taking place next Wednesday, May 22. Senior Walks are wonderful events, requiring organization and coordination at multiple school sites. I thank the Albany High School PTSA for providing the impetus and doing the work to make this happen.
Senior Walks Next Week
The Albany High School Class of 2024 is starting a new tradition in Albany — a Senior Walk that celebrates graduating seniors and their accomplishments by having them visit the elementary school they attended dressed in their caps and gowns. It's a way to show younger students that hard work pays off. They can cheer for our current grads and share in the excitement of their graduation, and even imagine themselves in graduation regalia some day in the future.
The Senior Walk is also a celebration of public education, and gives our students an opportunity to see, celebrate, and thank those teachers and staff with whom they started their academic life, and who have supported and encouraged them through the years. It's a wonderful, small-town event that is a great fit for Albany. We've invited former teachers to join us for this event, and parents are also welcome to attend. The AHS Senior Walk will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at Cornell, Marin, and Ocean View. The walks will begin at 8:30 and will be approximately 20 minutes long. Come and cheer our graduates and our future graduates!
New Elementary Bell Schedule
Next year, elementary schools will no longer use an early bird/late bird schedule. There will be a uniform schedule for TK/K and Grades 1–5.
TK/Kindergarten 8:30am – 1:30pm
1st – 5th Grades 8:30am – 3:05pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
1st – 5th Grades 8:30am – 1:45pm (Wednesday)

Querida comunidad de Albany,
Estoy emocionado de asistir a las caminatas para personas mayores que se llevarán a cabo el próximo miércoles 22 de mayo. Las caminatas para personas mayores son eventos maravillosos que requieren organización y coordinación en múltiples sitios escolares. Agradezco a la PTSA de Albany High School por brindar el impulso y hacer el trabajo para que esto suceda.
Caminatas para personas mayores la próxima semana
La promoción de 2024 de la escuela secundaria de Albany está comenzando una nueva tradición en Albany: una caminata para personas mayores que celebra a los estudiantes del último año que se gradúan y sus logros haciéndoles visitar la escuela primaria a la que asistieron vestidos con sus togas y birretes. Es una manera de mostrarles a los estudiantes más jóvenes que el trabajo duro vale la pena. アルバニー高校の2024年度卒業生は、アルバニーで新しい伝統を始めます。それは、卒業するシニアたちとその功績を祝うシニアウォークです。卒業帽とガウンを着て、彼らが通っていた小学校を訪問します。これは、努力は報われることを若い学生に示す方法です。彼らは現在の卒業生を応援し、卒業の興奮を共有し、将来いつか卒業式の衣装を着た自分を想像することさえできます。
