Taskforce to Address Issues of Racism and Intolerance
Issues of racism, bias, and intolerance have impacted our school community. Now, we are resolved to turn this pain into purpose by having open and honest conversations and taking action. We will work to create a culture that understands and respects diversity and unity.
The District will begin a community-wide engagement process. We need a small, powerful group of community members to lead a task force. Team members need to be open to a variety of viewpoints, able to communicate effectively, and collaborate well with others.
This team will:
1) Facilitate a series of engagement meetings with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
2) Gather ideas on a wide variety of topics.
3) Prepare a set of recommendations to staff and the school board.
4) Monitor implementation and report back periodically on what's working and what's not working.
