Good morning! March is Women’s History Month. Started in 1987, Women’s History Month recognizes the valuable contributions of women of all to history and society. The country also recognizes National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, National Multiple Sclerosis Education and Awareness Month, and Deaf History Month. Today we’re recognizing Ladda Tammy Duckworth, the first Asian American woman elected to Congress in Illinois and the first Thai American member of Congress who was born in Thailand. Duckworth also is the first disabled woman to be elected to Congress; she served as a U.S. helicopter pilot in the Iraq War and lost both legs during combat.
