On Friday, April 20th many students will be taking a stand to support safe learning environments at schools all over the United States.  Here at AMS, we will be hosting a letter-writing campaign at lunch so you can also voice your opinions. If you're interested in helping organize the activity or getting more information, join us this Wednesday, April 18th at lunch in room 109. Students and teachers welcome. You can also help out by bringing change or stamps to your science class.

At lunch today:

  • Earth Team is meeting in room 107
  • Safe School Ambassadors have a regular Family Meeting. See you there!

Stage crew is meeting today after school on the blacktop.

Attention Sound Crew: We are meeting this week on Thursday at 12:40 in room 202 to continue work on equipment and plan for upcoming events.

April is National Autism Awareness Month. In honor of that, we have an announcement from one of our students.

My name is Alex Apel and I have autism. I will tell you a little bit about autism.

The definition of autism is:

A set of neurological differences including challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as unique strengths.

-One negative stereotype that people have about autism is that autistic people are only good at a single thing. Another myth is that autistic people act they way they do because their parents aren’t strict enough.

-Fun fact- autism can run in families.
