Good morning! June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, established to recognize the impact that gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals have had on the world. The last Sunday in June is Gay Pride Day. San Francisco was one of the first cities to hold a Gay Pride Parade, back in 1970. African American author, Ernest J. Gaines once wrote, "Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?"

PEAK Students, this is your last chance to hand in your pink permission slips to Ms. Uyeda. Please hurry up!

Seventh graders who received a PEAK audition slip for Monday: Please don't forget to arrive at Room 204 for your audition.

At lunch today:

  • There will be NO Latino Club meeting. Our last meeting will be next Monday during lunch.
  • DGSA is meeting in room 210
  • Mile makeups are offered every day this week.  Meet on Cougar Field at 12:40 everyday, and 12:10 on Wednesday.  A PE teacher will be there to record your time.
  • Noontime sports is offering table tennis in the gym. 6th 12:35, 7/8th at 12:55

Please participate in the book exchange in the library all this week! The idea is simple: bring used books from home (make sure you get permission from your families), get a book buck for each book you bring to Ms. Perez in the library, and use the book bucks to trade for other used books.  One book = one book buck. If you have questions, see Ms. Perez in the library.

Attention all former art students, if you have left any artwork with Ms. Luci for the art show or in the art room you MUST come pick it up by Friday June 8th. Cabinets will be cleared out after that.

The last student council meeting is next Wednesday, June 6 at 7:30 AM in the library. All reps should plan on attending.

Do you identify as Latino or Hispanic? Would you like to take part in our Latino Bridge program for rising 6th graders the week before school starts in August? Please see Mr. Haupert if you’d like to help lead games, a student panel and build community for our rising Latino students.
